COUPON TIME! Grab your coupon here ('til Oct.16).
$20 off a regular priced clothing or accessories purchase of $95.
Ever have those days where it's a struggle to get it together? Example...today, despite the generous, inspirational sunshine, my outfit manages to bear a great resemblance to Johnny Cash. The only thing missing is the guitar, and June Carter! Some days the 'throw together' just does not 'come together'. Not trying to promote selfies, but... if in doubt, take one and have a look, as the visual is different from the mirror. That is, if there is no one around to give you a kind, yet honest opinion(if you in fact, want one ;). Better yet, shop in person at Plum, they will definitely help guide your look!
Clashy patterns is really a thing now. The black and white can be treated as neutral to the other chosen pattern. Don't like it? That's ok, mix something up that suits you. Both are a backdrop to the fabulous vest/jacket, however. Add the reverse pockets with zip, long, finger tip length, which elongates the body and you have a great fall piece. Go get one now, I'll wait here!
Kersh bonded Sherpa vest (caramel cream) $88
Acapella long sleeve tie front blouse (black or forest) $89
Kersh printed pencil skirt (brown) $59
Here's a gorgeous contrast textured look that most of us have grown to love, the feminine lace with rugged, worn denim. Above shown with heels, easy to add a shawl or blazer and some great earrings for a girls night out look.
Kersh capsleeve lace top (cream) $65
Emma boyfriend dark R vintage $108
Graphic t's have no trouble mixing it up with other patterns. It works very well if both have at least one colour in common. Paired with this dramatic draped front sweater, brings it up a notch!
Nanavatee open front drapey cardigan (black) $66
Bear Dance 'sorry I'm late' t shirt $35
If pulling it together to you is putting on a dress and going...this simple, fresh design is for you. Wear this with a jean jacket or bomber jacket (very hot right now) and knee high boots for casual dates. The textured fabric has so much stretch; accommodates all your daily bend and flex with no effort.
Simone dress with elbow sleeve (burgundy or green) $139
My Father loved Johnny Cash, so maybe he'd be proud of his 'girl' named Sue...But, even after much more than 30 years (go Hillary) of dressing, sometimes, it just doesn't work out perfectly as planned for me. But that's ok. There's really no one voting for me!

Speaking of 'inside sources'...do you have your own? Or rather, do you have beauty secrets you share with NO ONE, not even your cat? Personally speaking, I'm not one to keep things to myself, however, some things I do not care to share. To my great discomfort, someone once watched me while I applied my makeup. I'm quite sure no one would accuse me of being a 'natural' beauty; my eyeliner looks like it was applied with a magic marker most days. Yet, that process is something I don't care to share...However, Plum is happy to seek out and share with you some great and sumptuous sweater styles. Sometimes sharing is good! ;)
The secret to a great sweater is it's texture or colour or design... maybe all 3! This one has such a delicious simplicity, like vanilla ice cream! A great 'go to' pattern, cut and design suited for most body types...of course height dependant, a nice bum skimming length.
Point Zero cable knit turtleneck sweater (cream) $75
Something about the same old sweater that is so inviting....but if not...here's a refreshing take on the usual, with the oversized, off center pocket (big enough for an ipad or very large wallet), and a fabulous hood! The colours are so fall enticing!
Kerisma tera hoodie (brown, olive or grey blend) $89
Who doesn't love a great twin set. Sold separately this is such a sleek, sexy pairing. Turtlenecks are very 'in' this season. Beautiful worn open or add a wide belt for a bit of added style.
Backdrop sweater open duster (brown or green) $105
Backdrop sleeveless knit mock neck (brown or green) $68
If you're a bit of a virgin to the poncho craze, here's one that might be your first. It's a poncho sweater with lovely ribbed sleeves, a really unique, curved hem and very flattering v shape pattern.
Kaffe kikki poncho (black/white) $79
Is your best kept beauty secret a body shaper, an opaque concealer or photoshop app on your smart phone? Probably your best kept beauty secret is your smile...and you should share that with everyone!

What guides your fashion choices? Body shape or size, how you feel in it, what you read or something else? For one thing, we're quite influenced by others opinions. After all, people read blogs (wink) and fashion magazines and are convinced they 'must' buy a turquoise, wide, vegan studded belt because...well, Vogue said it's a 'must!' Or feel just so 'empowered' in pink! This is where Plum staff come in. Convey your intention to them and they can help guide you, so the feeling is expressed in how you look!
I would say the feeling here Mona Lisa is, 'I feel so fabulous that if I so much as smile, it would be over-the-top'! This very understated, dress comes in very autumnal hues and can also be worn as a tunic (depending on your height).
Simone cocoon dress (with pockets) (black, plum or wine) $129
Maybe there has always got to be a different or unusual element to your style choice. A great addition to your casual wardrobe, this top incorporates something unique with the asymmetric zipper to an otherwise basic style.
Very J asymmetric knit top with zipper (charcoal or olive) $69
Perhaps you like to make yourself and everyone around you laugh...(or you love cats); graphic t's are a great addition. The feeling is light hearted and the simple nature of the colours make matching a breeze!
Bear Dance 'I work hard' (black) t shirt $35
If showing your feminine shape is the ultimate requirement, check out this absolutely stunning Simone design. Very forgiving fabric as it's comprised of poly/rayon and spandex. As well the collar adds a slight retro feel to the whole fitted, 50's vibe.
Simone sheath dress with collar (blue or wine) $149
Speak your feelings with what you wear... (But using a dictionary never hurt anyone)! ;)

Picture this...You're meeting with a real estate agent for the first time about to view various properties in the hopes of making a purchase. If you live in Vancouver, this would be substantial money (an understatement). Your Real Estate agent stands in front of you, she smiles warmly..but you look down, threads hang from her suit and the lining of the hem is buckling...You worry...not because she isn't attentive, seems to recycle and drives a hybrid (lol), about her attention to detail. Plum's attention to detail is never in question. Suits that can stand next to any internationally known, high end label at more than fair prices.
I adore this suit. It's only drawback is, if you're giving a presentation, there is a distinct possibility no one will hear what's been said, so distractingly gorgeous. A stunning addition to your professional wardrobe, with a slight feminine edge.
Tobias double breasted jacket with flared hem (black or pewter) $230
Tobias slim pant with welt pocket (black or pewter) $110
Maybe it's your first day on the job and it's a traditional suit style you need. This is Plum's latest two button. Just a superior fitting jacket worn here with the matching, paneled, back slit skirt. An office wardrobe basic.
Tobias two button jacket with peak lapels (Merlot and black) $215
Tobias pencil skirt (Merlot and black) $95
Here is an absolutely wonderful addition to anyone's wardrobe. On the left worn with a pencil skirt and Kersh cardi for more of an office look, on the right suitable for casual/weekend times. A wonderful, wool blend mix. Yet light weight enough to be layered and worn as outerwear. A really versatile piece.
Tobias draped front boiled wool coat (black, peacock or purple) $225
And some co-ordinates to go with your suits. Because embroidered anything is very big right now. From scarves, to jackets to even footwear, you'll find embroidery. This sweet top is allover embroidered georgette lace. And a shell top is an easy match with any suit.
Kersh capsleeve lace top (cream) $65
Plum sleeveless top with high low hem (black or pink) $69
Exchange 'Real Estate Agent' with Doctor, Interior Decorator, Financial Advisor...many professions necessitate flawless presentations requiring the client to trust in, at times, risky endeavors. Stepping down from the seriousness of work attire, however, jackets are also ok on weekends, just double check for the chocolate croissant stains before you step into that meeting on Monday!
Just remember, the quality of your work need not hang by a thread!

MOODY? ME? Never! Let's be real, I'm human, not digital, programmable software. Moods change and your desire for different things ever evolving. But thankfully, Plum carries three of the top, steadfast denim brands in today's market, consistent in their quality and style goals. Perfect for our ever changing West Coast life. Because it's comforting to know, some things remain constant...YOGA, MAVI, DISH (and Plum).
The MAVI Emma boyfriend jean is designed specifically to look like you've had them for years. Maybe longer than the boyfriend...lived in, loved and so very easy to craft a funky, YOU-ful look.
Mavi Emma boyfriend dark R-vintage $108
Gone are the days when putting on a pair of jeans was like trying to put panty hose on a cat...a painful and useless experience! I adore these jeans. They fit like they were made for me, move with me (and no cats were hurt during the process)! Wear them with the highest heels and a scrumptious blazer like Plum's draped front and a saucy t shirt.
Mavi Ashley mini flare (34" inseam) $118
Plum draped front jacket (caramel or wine) $135
Bear Dance 'talk to the paw' t (ivory or white) $35
Not to be outdone is Dish, an innovative, Vancouver based company which regularly explores and creates new denim blends. Their goal is to accommodate the active, moving, sweating person (which we as humans surprisingly do), with style. So go ahead, hop on your bike and head to work...Dish makes an amazing black denim that is just beyond compare, tailor made for the active west coast style. Despite the compulsion to show off your dexterity in these jeans, it will do fine for the more usual professional settings. Wear with this pretty, floral top.
Dish forever black 28" skinny jeans (black) $132
Plum 3/4 sleeve top with back keyhole (black or blue) $49
And last but certainly not least by any means Yoga jeans. A true leader in the denim industry. Made in Canada, the top priority (beyond style) of Yoga is to truly fit and conform to a woman's body (not the other way around)! High rise, an on trend style component, creates a gorgeous silhouette and comfort beyond compare.
Yoga ankle skinny Miami jean $120
The beauty of denim is that it never looks the same on any two people. And the best part is, Plum carries the top brands, with our real west coast life in mind. So go ahead, find your fit without compromise!
