I think we've danced long enough with winter. Winter sit down, it's time for Spring. I find myself so fed up with winter, I'd like to box it up and send it to the east coast of Canada where they know exactly what to do with it. Baltic and Slavic countries have the right idea; every year on the first day of spring, an effigy of winter is burned and thrown in the river as a way to welcome Spring....I say why wait, let's do that now. Let's have a look at some spring looks:
Did you hear the one about the cats who went on vacation from their tough lives? No me neither because that's impossible...Bear Dance makes some seriously silly t shirts. Plum has an extensive collection to choose from.
Bear Dance 'cats in Volkswagen van' (ivory) $35
Trench coats are synonymous with spring. Signifying that it's time to pack away the heavy coats, and now warm enough to put on a lighter one! A great, timeless take on a men's classic.
Soya Concept trench belted coat (sand) $149
Here are a couple of fresh spring options. The Tobias on the left with it's small polka dot print, brings to mind snow drops, one of the first floral emergence. A beautifully tailored jacket. And the tan drape front Tobias jacket presents a neutral alternative to black.
Tobias shawl collar jacket (black or navy) $198
Tobias open front jacket with rolled sleeves (concrete, nougat or olive) $149
Maybe as an homage to the suffragettes' of a 150 years ago, (white having been a significant colour), you'd like to implement some white into your wardrobe, or to support a cause ;)...the collarless Point Zero jacket is a fantastic choice to lighten up the season.
Point Zero collarless jean jacket (lt indigo denim or white) $90
Mavi Adrianna glam white rinse (white) $118
Grey is a wonderful transitional colour to springs brights. Not too dark, not too light (as Goldilocks once said). An uncomplicated garment, great for a casual work environment or weekend/off hours. Simple and comfortable, but easy to accessorize.
Ellison slouchy knit tunic (grey or navy) $65
I aim to create a life that I don't need a vacation from (I like that quote)...however a girl can dream...Bear Dance make some of the most light hearted, amusing and nicely fitting t shirts I've found and I'm a bit obsessed with t shirts.
Bear Dance 'I need a vacation' T (black) $35
Great things happen during transition times. We sometimes notice things we'd not normally notice and thus take a different direction, pause to appreciate what we have or get excited by what is to come ...Spring brings with it so much hope (and some great wardrobe pieces) ;)

DON'T FORGET: FREE SHIPPING UNTIL FEB. 19 (min. $50 purchase)
In light of Valentine's day, thought I'd pay a little attention to daytime to date time, outfits. With so little time these days, despite all our modern conveniences...who has time to go home and change an entire outfit after work? Typically we might be gone for a full 15 hours in a day, if we go from work to fun evening activity... no one wants to lug around an entire other ensemble! With a little tweaking, a simple change can have you ready for night time twerking! ;)
I would say this is definitive professional dress. Perfect for any office scenario. But if you're heading out later to a movie or pub with friends, this might seem a bit stiff. Possibly add a fun necklace, change into knee high boots and change into a jean jacket. Or instead of a necklace, maybe a scarf. Or with the embroidered option, nothing else is needed.
Simone A-line dress with pockets (black, coral or royal) $129
Mavi Samantha $118
Mavi Alicia embroidered $148
It feels as though there is still plenty of winter left to wear a turtleneck. Especially a nice, lightweight, well fitting one. You can still add some personality to it for the after work activity like a great pendant, a statement necklace or simply bright pink or red lipstick. A simple change of footwear and/or some bold earrings, takes things from I mean business to easy/casual.
Soya Concept stripe knit top (black/white) $49
Blouses and shirts should not be discounted. They've become fairly common place in the office world, but that doesn't mean they can't go out to play. This, sweet print, on it's own shows your fun side. Wear it buttoned up and add a string of pearls or open the neckline and your fav. necklace collection. Add a cardigan and a light hearted night event is set.
acapella elbow sleeve blouse (ivory with black print or black with ivory print) $79
Conversely, there is absolutely no reason this stunning work of beading and embroidery, cannot be worn to work, perfect under a suit and then clearly wonderful for night time...Looks great with jeans, perhaps you're allowed them at work...if not, simply change your shoes to something a bit more funky! Ready to go!
Verty short sleeve beaded top (black) $89
Given that there are 24 hours in a day, and 8 of them are spent sleeping, that leaves only 16...driving across town to change outfits is not usually part of this equation. And in the words of Donna Brazile (DNC Chair) 'If you don't value your time, no one else will'.

5 DAY (starts Thursday to Monday) SPECIAL PROMOTION. Take an extra 40% off the lowest price (fall & winter), exclusions apply*
You know what they say, it's not over until the snow tires come off. Well, that's what I say. And While we anxiously await the end of snowmagedden, let's discuss the pros and cons of shopping online versus in person. We all know shopping online is 24/7 but what about in person? First of all Plum staff are extremely knowledgeable; they know the trends, they know the stock and if you let them get to know you a bit, they can bring it all together. In person, you get to try it on first, get an expert opinion and maybe some different suggestions; make the most of your purchase. Shopping in store...all but one of Plum's store locations contain play areas for kids. I think I just tipped the advantage to in store shopping ;)
Never mind the snow...Valentine's day is just around the corner...wear your heart on your chest....A subtle but simple way to show you're all heart!
CM long sleeve heart sweater (oatmeal) $79 (in stores and online)
This is a trend that shows no signs of disappearing any time soon. Incorporating the boho look with needlepoint (a close cousin to embroidery), a fabulous neckline, long sleeves, it eases into spring perfectly.
BLVD embroidered blouse (ivory) $79 (instores and online)
Here is a wonderful, day to date idea. From the front, makes for a great office piece, yet still adding a bit of change from the ordinary with the vertical stripes...then the back view notes some exquisite lace detailing. Making the back view just as compelling as the front.
Point Zero stripe/lace back shell (white) $64 (instore and online)
Standard office wear can at times feel a bit stale and lacking the creative edge. Not this! I've spotted several coworkers wearing this wonderful dress and it's just absolutely adorable on, yet, professional, comfortable and a bit edgy. Basically displays the wearer as someone who 'thinks outside the box'.
Simone (black/ecru or ecru/navy) $139
Just when I think I have enough jean jackets, cropped, long, distressed...then come the collarless and the embroidered jackets. The collarless jacket employs all the standard features of the usual denim jacket with a bit more of a feminine flair, a hidden hook and eye closure, just enough stretch AND pockets! Made for a woman, never mind the boys! And the embroidered trend looks great on the jean jacket.
Point Zero collarless jacket (denim or white) $90
Mavi Alecia embroidered jean jacket (deep rinse) $148
There are just times where getting out of the house is not on the agenda, thus online shopping was invented. On the other hand, there are times where it feels like if you don't get out of the house, you'll start talking to yourself...only time to worry is when you start answering back.
If you'd like to talk to someone other than yourself, find a Plum location near you, if you're not compelled to venture out...look for a promotion for 'free shipping' coming soon!

Perhaps you're aware that the wardrobe staple, the 'cardigan' was the invention of James Thomas Brudenell, the 7th Earl of Cardigan, who employed the design to lavishly outfit his regiment which has continued to outfit men into present time, from Mr. Rogers to Curt Cobain. However, It was Coco Chanel who, tired of forever having her hair messed by the tight sweater collar when donning the pullover, first created the women's (needless to say) fashionable version. Thank you Coco! While I don't have a great 'do' to protect, I still love cardigans. They come in many colours, long or short, and go with everything...maybe more versatile than a boyfriend!
With a colour selection that mimics a rainbow burst, these crew neck cardigans are the perfect addition to any ensemble. Soft and so well fitting, comprised of 80% cotton and just enough stretch for comfort or to accommodate your curves.
Kersh crew neck 3/4 sleeve cardigan (coral, denim, fuchsia, lilac, pond, turquoise) $55
Try your cardigan with this sweet as pie, tunic, shirt/dress. Hard currently to imagine 'sandals', however, wear now with tights and ballet flats. Note the ever so slight tuck in the back for definition.
Simone denim print button front dress (blue multi, blue/white or medium blue) $119
Here's another great combination. A simple tank, a sexy pencil skirt with a slit and your cardigan. Try picking one of the multitude of fresh colour tanks, an equally fun hued cardigan and yet another toned belt. Simple, feminine and easy to pull together.
Plum ribbed tank (black, cobalt, daisy, kelly green, magenta, mint, navy, peach, scarlet, turquoise, violet, white) $18
Orb pencil skirt with side slit (black or grey heather) $55
Another great thing that will be right at home with your cardigan are these curve hugging, embroidered jeans. And who needs hemming with this great, raw edge denim look. Those lazy or busy of us are just thrilled about this current trend!
Mavi Adrianna ankle embroidered denim $128
Even though the mighty cardigan started out as a gentlemans garment, does not mean 'we' can't share it. After all we both have hearts beating in our chests, feet for walking and like to look good...but like Bob Thaves famously in his 1982 cartoon wrote, 'sure Fred Astaire was great, but Ginger Rogers did everything he did, only backwards and in heels'! We win!! (the cardigan that is)

Let's talk about t shirts. My favourite thing, second only to breathing! In recent years, rising to the forefront of fashion because they're fun, easy, light and often an inexpensive way to add some levity to your wardrobe. No longer just for hanging out at home or cleaning the car, they're currently seen nearly everywhere, yet I doubt they'd have appeared at President Trumps Inaugural Ball...or a court hearing (a few exceptions)! Plum has an amazing collection of witty t shirts. It's time to stock up and wear them out!
Needless to say t shirts go with shorts like coffee and cream. Meant for each other. Such is the above skull with roses. These are such nice fitting t shirts, comprised of rayon and spandex.
Bear Dance skull with roses $35
A fairly common pairing now is with a smart blazer. The above Tobias blazer is just as comfortable as the t shirt with it's rayon, nylon and spandex composition. To wear with: tuck the t shirt into a pencil skirt and add a skinny belt. Just one of many options.
Bear Dance wolf and riding hood $35
Tobias shawl collar jacket (silver or black) $179
Another fantastic option, wear them with kimono's, shawls or ponchos. Plum's acapella oversized shawl is a great match. Loose and free flowing as well as very long. Pick your favourite skinny jeans, and pumps or ankle boots. A great weekend or pub night with the girls, look.
Bear Dance inhale exhale $35
acapella oversized open shawl (black, natural or navy) $79
I wonder, do you think President Trump likes cats? Totally irrelevant. Like cats or not, you have to admit these are very light hearted and funny. Simple enough to throw on a plain t shirt but graphic t's add a bit of whimsy and playful humor.
Bear Dance never trust a man t $35 Bear Dance cat with sombrero $35
Bear Dance sushi chef cat $ 35 Bear Dance tattoo cats $35
When you think of adding one or two pieces to kick start your wardrobe, these are a great way to play up your sense of humour, stay current and add a breath of fresh air to your closet. Plum has an incredibly irresistible array of choices. No need to have a cat, just a sense of humor.
