Do you sometimes think we will see a day where winter will no longer exist? Perhaps not in our lifetime. Some of us escape the grayness of the season during these dreary months by heading south. You therefore, will need to get prepared by exhuming the summer wear. And while we all make our individual attempts at conserving, reusing and recycling, at times, we find the old tank tops are just not possible to resuscitate. Climate change is just something we must face, it's here to stay and for us to fix. Although we feel it's a current phenomenon, two hundred years ago, when Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein' was published, her husband Percy, wrote of the earth's perceived dire state even then in his poem 'Mont Blanc'. So, this is perhaps not current news. Just something we must again revisit...like last years wardrobe!

We're in an age where clever, innovative and smart things are being engineered at lightening speed...cars, phones, and even clothing, however, some creations just didn't stick. Like the air conditioned shoes or shoe umbrella. Yet some did catch on, like the low tech, graphic t, and while it can hardly be considered new, it has made a permanent place for itself in the fashion world. The idea is, why say something with your God given, organic mouth, when you can put it on a t shirt! ....Do you hear that? Neither do I, because silence is on the endangered list. So, join the movement, wear your thoughts on your t shirt and you can sit, conserving sound waves, enjoying your Kombucha green tea latte, while madly sketching out your latest inspiration to change the world. Let's explore some of Plum's ingenious and humorous Bear Dance t shirts and what to wear with them.
 
Needless to say, t shirts go with jeans like children and toys, however, sometimes it's nice to change things up a bit. The cute little skirt to the right, might have been what Red Riding hood, had on with her cape? Regardless, it's a nice little diversion from the usual jeans. Add a little cardigan and it's a sweet, fun little look.
Again, moving away from what's expected, these Tencel wide leg crops are a nice alternative to shorts or skirts in warmer weather. If you need them for less casual occasions, try a pair of laser cut booties or kitten heel sling backs + cardigan or blazer and you've formulated a unique, yet light hearted look.
 
And possibly you DO want to wear your t shirt with jeans. I'm loving these new in, raw edge crop jeans. To funk up the look even more, maybe feed a twisted scarf through the belt loops, tuck in the t shirt and add a pair of sunnies of course! Kind of a 'girly' version of Huck Finn, but far cuter!
So, you have a sushi date with a Friend? Of course you'll need this t shirt. Works perfectly with these tan trousers, however, various other colours within, means you clearly can pair them with other things.

I think this is a nice little trio. A cheeky little tank top, a crisp blazer and skinny stripe pants. Adding the scarf is a nice touch. If your mid section is an area that you look for ways to camouflage...a couple of suggestions, try a wide belt with the t shirt tucked in or, what I do, stay home, plunk on the couch, eat cheesies with a fork and watch Friends reruns. That's on a bad day! Idea # 1 is far healthier.

Were you Valedictorian in school, did you come first place in a marathon or solve the Rubics cube? All commendable accomplishments. There are anger issues, trust issues, emotional issues, weight issues (I don’t recall salad ever being anyone’s issue)....but my biggest issue is my t shirt issue…a rather out of control obsession which has forced me to turn it into a hobby. Finding them, wearing them and then turning them into something else when I get tired of them (a bag, a skirt, a scarf, a blanket, a little girls dress) because I can't bear to think of my once beloved t shirt lying lonely and cast aside like an old boyfriend in a landfill…so many memories, so much passion…gone! My favourite garment because they fit easily, go with all types of co-ordinates and are relatively inexpensive. Message T’s have emerged as a staple and often stand for more than just fashion, but in a light hearted way. Because while social media, news clips and a hot cup of coffee set the tone for the day, so too can a well worded t shirt.
 
Cat's...the annoying little brother of the pet family! Quiet, pesky and somehow always avoids trouble...take cheeky to a whole new level...wear it with this fabulous coat. Or, maybe your crazy cat lady friend, lives for her cats, this makes a fitting gift.

If you have something to say or a cause to support, it's commonplace to put it on a t shirt. And why not, that's a lot of blank space to be used! This is not new, the first graphic t's were army issue back in the 40's or perhaps earlier, the 'Wizard of Oz' t shirts used to promote the film. Graphic t's then skyrocketed to popularity in the 50's and 60's when bands caught on to their promotional appeal. And, who can forget George Michael's 1984 iconic 'Choose Life' t shirt. BUT, no need to be so serious. Plum has a wonderful selection with a much more light hearted take made by Bear Dance. They're silly, often feature some of our favourite pets and fit so well. I think we've danced long enough with winter. Winter sit down, it's time for Spring. I find myself so fed up with winter, I'd like to box it up and send it to the east coast of Canada where they know exactly what to do with it. Baltic and Slavic countries have the right idea; every year on the first day of spring, an effigy of winter is burned and thrown in the river as a way to welcome Spring....I say why wait, let's do that now. Let's have a look at some spring looks:
