Allegedly attributed to Oscar Wilde. Nonetheless, it's a humorously valid point. That being said, there is certainly room to 'try on' another persona from time to time and fashion is a great tool. At times, I sometimes tire of my own 'dark-princess-boho-new-age-hippy-artist' look! You know? Maybe for instance, you've always wanted to be a prima ballerina but a feeling of awkwardness stood in your way, or a plumber, and your Mother said, 'you're too delicate to be a plumber dear'? Time to challenge your old stereotypes and unwrap another part of you! Go buy something pink or get yourself a pair of overalls and get yourself under that sink and explore those pipes! After all, it's still you, it's just an add on ;)
Spotted this on the boss yesterday and it looked so good I almost paid her a compliment! This sumptuous, substantially textured open front sweater is such an eye catcher, as well so comfortable to wear.
And speaking of sweaters...(because, they're 20% off right now and it's cold)...two things that go very well together. if I was to venture into the more feminine look, this is one I'd pick...an ice cream pink hue, cable knit, open front with lots of length.
This billowy variegated mohair knit sweater compels me to curl up near a fireplace with a thick hard cover (or popcorn and Youtube)! Or I envision an artist bringing a large canvas to life! Regardless of who this adorns, it shows a lot of flair.
A bit of a departure from sweaters, thought I'd present something quite bright for the season. And red is huge this year. Shutter the thought that it ever went out. Despite it being holiday season, we're seeing a bit more than usual. Just a gorgeous, bold, flowey silk blend top that would work quite well for all other seasons and climates.
Life is just too short so, GO there, eat that, read that, watch that and go buy that thing that gives you a candy coated, cup cake frosting covered with sprinkles feeling. After all, who ARE YOU? Meghan Markle said when, as a child, she was required to fill out a form stating she was white or black...she turned to her father who said 'draw your own box'!

Attitude, generally, can mean you have some level of arrogance, self righteousness OR it can mean you're spunky, feisty and spirited. Which is not a bad thing! BUT there is no reason you can't have both types of 'tude...gratitude and attitude. Go on...espouse both qualities, it will truly confuse people! Wear your attitude, but be very gracious. Wear your attitude, but help the old lady across the street with her groceries; sure you might look like you might intimidate even Anna Wintour...but you'd provide life saving mouth to mouth on a kitten....the world needs more of you! Keeps us all on our toes!
You really should try on a little bit of 'sass'! (but not with your Mamma)! These jeans are so incredibly hot, and before you let the words 'I can't' slip out of your mouth...try them on! They have plenty of stretch! Super sleek style that looks fantastic with the contrasting angel white...but so many possibilities. Really stand out style!

A bit of a mixture, a simple t shirt dress...with a twist...literally! A high hip level twist and a small slit adds a bit of spice to the usual knit dress style!

Abundant with grand style with some echoes of the Marilyn Monroe era. Not strictly to be worn with solids, a new, bold way to wear leopard print is with different patterns, as if it were a neutral. Perhaps you're not partial to cross country skiing, hours of shoveling or making snow angels; possibly you enjoy the indoor sports....you know, reading books, watching movies or dancing around the living room to 80's music (oops that's me). Really what are some of your indoor passions? Do you knit, wood carve, bake or paint? This is an excellent time to dive into your passions, start a new project or finish an old one. Or...dare I say, maybe it's just watching YouTube video's of strange animal friendships or...shopping...let me help feed that passion (the latter)...
Well, you can cozy up to something other than a boyfriend or dog....how about a sweatshirt and a hot cocoa (or wine)....accompanied by an old black and white film....you see, January is good for something.

I think this is a particularly scrumptious sweater. I realize it lacks vibrancy with it's black, white and grey palette...but that's where your bright red lipstick comes in. All 3 colours will ultimately match any other colour. And the winter white next to your face, helps brighten your complexion.

What to wear with your 'crazy cat lady' t shirt other than your cat? Try a poncho. Easy to throw on for the cold nights inside, or over a coat, a jacket or sweater...so great for layering. Mixing patterns is fine, pick a colour to co-ordinate, or keep within the same family of tones.

How do you feel about your unclothed body? I've had some very intriguing comments from my kids about mine. "I don't care about my belly (I tell them), that's where you started out!" My body is a veritable geographic tour of my life (the cut from climbing a fence as a kid, contorted fingers from endless hours of drawing as a kid and some wart scars (I know, charming)....I like my body as it is, however,not interested in parading it around in it's unadorned format (you can keep Wreck Beach), and I am grateful for the ample choices to 'clothe it'. Not talking about only dressing for covering a flaw, more working with what we have. Plum has ample choices for complimenting your assets (top and bottom)...and thankfully for sweater lovers your favourite season continues.
This is a MUST have for sweater season. Hands down, this will be one that you'll need to invest in because it's a live in type garment. Fit to be classified as a dress, tunic or simply an elongated sweater. Pockets, for the fidgety of us and an abundant neck. On me it's lower thigh and I'm 5'7"...on our lovely, leggy model it's a bit shorter.

Ever have those days where it's a struggle to get it together? Example...today, despite the generous, inspirational sunshine, my outfit manages to bear a great resemblance to Johnny Cash. The only thing missing is the guitar, and June Carter! Some days the 'throw together' just does not 'come together'. Not trying to promote selfies, but... if in doubt, take one and have a look, as the visual is different from the mirror. That is, if there is no one around to give you a kind, yet honest opinion(if you in fact, want one ;). Better yet, shop in person at Plum, they will definitely help guide your look!
Clashy patterns is really a thing now. The black and white can be treated as neutral to the other chosen pattern. Don't like it? That's ok, mix something up that suits you. Both are a backdrop to the fabulous vest/jacket, however. Add the reverse pockets with zip, long, finger tip length, which elongates the body and you have a great fall piece. Go get one now, I'll wait here!
