style

While quantities last, Plum has some of it's best, and most popular Yoga jeans styles on sale at $ 79 and $ 89. So, unless you have a uniquely special way of making even 'Mom' jeans look great, it might be time for a pair of Yoga jeans. Mom or not, we all want comfort AND style! Put them on, don't give them a second thought, this is likely what 'Second' was thinking when they created these divine jeans. Make them comfortable, make them stylish, make them in Canada. Looks like they hit all important points.

Plum's owners took a little trip to Quebec where Yoga's are made, to have a look for themselves. This is the busy Canadian factory where these jeans are produced.

You don't need to be a prima ballerina to test these out. Any regular day will do! Made from only premium denim and designed specifically so they do not gape at the waist. Bend over, dance, have a nap, these will not fail you in any of your activities. Mainly helping you reach your goal of looking super sexy!

Boot cuts are such a great option to the ever present skinny.  Contrast them with a lovely lace, cut out top. Look for a cut out leather bootie or open toe wedge or espadrille's to tie the two together. Yoga jeans are made with extra dye to produce a more rich, unique look so remember to wash them before wearing them.

Yoga bootcut highrise rinse indigo jean now $79

Grifflin shell lace top $49

Generally speaking, black jeans will go with anything....just experiment, after all, it's not dental surgery.  T shirts are frequently the obvious and easy choice. (you will be beautiful, and not so much broke, as the jeans are on sale). Brains and beauty, hard to beat that combination.

Yoga highrise skinny jeans $79

Michelle 'broke but beautiful' t shirt $49

There are far more styles than shown here. Without a doubt you'll find yourself in a pair that will blow your mind.

Yoga jeans are made right here in Canada, from premium denim. In some cases, the denim finish is hand worked to give it the authentic, lived in look. Truly a company that cares as much about quality as you do.

Cool and casual... do it right!

Looking 'cool' with a casual, effortless appearance is not as easy as it seems...or is it? There's a fine line between casual and...well, sloppy. The rugged look of aged denim can have a truly negative effect, if, all elements are not taken into account (ie: footwear, accessories, quality). Take a peak at some of what Plum has, that I feel, exemplify 'casual' done right.

Image

Nothing like a statement T to create a look which takes the place of accessories, if uncomplicated is your choice. The simple nature of the t shirt and dark denim, create a fresh image...not much else is needed. However, if adding a necklace is preferred, by all means that would also work without creating something 'too busy'.

Press Boat neck t shirt (white or black) $50

Kersh Open Style Cardigan (9 colours) $59 (Don't forget about the current cardi promo)

Image

Vintage denim creates a personal, lived in feel; like you've worn them for years and made them your own. However, putting together contrasting components, such as very feminine shoes and top, helps avoid the 'I woke up in them' look (not to be confused with the 'I woke up this way' look). The jewelled sweater and heels infuse balance and create a 'funky, cool' vibe.

Mavi Emma Boyfriend dark vintage jean $108

Sydney short sleeved jewelled French terry top (coming soon).

Image

Above (front email) image is just an easy, complete, fresh presentation. The Tobias jacket is 100% linen, which exemplifies spring...light, breezy and natural. This is such a beautifully tailored jacket. Add a graphic t shirt to your vintage jeans and you're set to go.

Tobias 100% linen jacket $169 (as always Tobias is designed and made in Vancouver)

Nümph Macaw tank top (Lt grey Melange) $45

So when it comes to casual, cool comfort (say that 3 times), the factors required for looking carefree and not careless with your style are somewhat elementary....balance...which essentially is all about life in general...wouldn't you agree?

If I need to look polished, quirky, elegant, or even sexy, I have the perfect item in my closet. When paired with my closet staples, I could wear a blouse every day of the week.

Whatever I’m in the mood for, there are plenty of styles to suit. For the office, a fun printed blouse adds a touch of my personality under a jacket. Then for weekend brunch, I can wear that same blouse over my distressed denim and with a bright Kersh cardi.

If I’m feeling casual, I’ll wear a button-up loose over a tank with my boyfriend jeans. But if I’m looking for something more polished, I can wear the same blouse buttoned up to the neck with a high-waisted pencil skirt. There's a blouse to interpret every bit of my style.

Plum blouses are exclusively designed by Plum and made in Vancouver.

The sheer Plum polka dot tunic is the perfect travel companion.

Sweaters Naturally

Don’t tell me you aren’t living in your sweater right now! It’s chilly out there! When the weather cools down, we go for our knits like no other garment--sweaters are second nature.

But because we are wearing our sweaters nearly 24-7 during the fall and winter season, they are probably the one item that can really make a statement of about you (and your style).  Are you creative when you layer your knits? Do you show off your quirky side with an animal sweater?  Or does a cable-knit cardigan show your classic taste?

Whatever your style, don’t just rely on comfort to guide your choice of knits. What’s your sweater saying about you?

 Image

Anyone can wear the classic Kersh ribbed waist cardigan—just pick a colour to suit you or your personality. That's why it's such a great gift idea...almost risk-free.

Originally $49 dollars but you can have it for $36.75 for 4 days only!

Wear the Triple 5 Soul Graphic Zip Front Sweater with the Alexa skinny jeans and a pair of motorcycle boots for a stylish and sporty look.

Sweaters Are Anything But Boring

Sweater weather is in full swing and now that we are easily reminded that it’s time to cozy up, it’s a good time to evaluate your wardrobe for what you have in terms of knits. When we are naturally gravitating to sweaters this time of year, think beyond your basic cardigans--

Image

Warm up with this tribal geometic motif sweater in an electric coral, gold and black with a fringe trim. Leave your dull sweaters out in the cold and have fun mix-and-matching like we did when we layered it over this striped T-shirt.

Image

Make your collar pop with a pullover sweater. This polka dot version is a bold take on this trend, but even solid pullover sweaters can repurpose those collared shirts that we have in our closets into a look that’s fun but pulled-together. For a finishing touch, add a statement necklace that hits along the crewneck.

Image

This ombre turtleneck sweater is a go-to for a look you can throw on without thought, but that still has tons of style. Just put it over some ripped dark denim skinnies (like these Mavi Alexas shown above) for a relaxed look you’ll be wearing every weekend.

How’s your sweater situation? Do you need a new jolt of style? Check out our window shop page for some sweater inspiration.
